چکیده
Mad weave (anyam gila) is a type of basketry originating in Indonesian area. There is very little literature on the technique, and it is not widely used, but it produces a very pleasing fabric. It has a triaxial structure (the weaving strands are in three directions in contrast to the more usual warp and weft structure), and as a consequence it has a symmetry p6 (or 632 in orbifold notation). The structure will decompose in various ways into combinations of different structures, in particular the more common open hexagonal weave (or kagome) or its variants.

Fabrication and Characterization of Novel Mixed Matrix Polyethersulfone Nanofiltration Membrane Modified by Iron-Nickel Oxide Nanoparticles
In this study, a mixed matrix polyethersulfone/iron-nickel oxide nanoparticle nanofiltration membrane was prepared by the solution casting technique. Polyvinylpyrrolidone was also used as a membrane pore former in membrane fabrication. The effect of iron-nickel oxide nanoparticles concentration in the casting solution on the membrane structure and performance was investigated. Scanning...
متن کاملCompound Fabrication: A Multi-Functional Robotic Platform for Digital Design and Fabrication
) Supporting various applications of digital fabrication and manufacturing, the industrial robot is typically assigned repetitive tasks for specific pre-programmed and singular applications. We propose a novel approach for robotic fabrication and manufacturing entitled Compound Fabrication, supporting multi-functional and multi-material processes. This approach combines the major manufacturing ...
متن کاملMolecular basis for three-dimensional elaboration of the Aquilegia petal spur.
By enforcing specific pollinator interactions, Aquilegia petal nectar spurs maintain reproductive isolation between species. Spur development is the result of three-dimensional elaboration from a comparatively two-dimensional primordium. Initiated by localized, oriented cell divisions surrounding the incipient nectary, this process creates a pouch that is extended by anisotropic cell elongation...
متن کاملClinical analysis of a CAD/CAM system for custom seating: a comparison with hand-sculpting methods.
A CAD/CAM system for manufacturing custom seating inserts was evaluated within a moderately to severely disabled population. Using the Otto Bock Shape System, 25 CAD/CAM seats were manufactured at a remote facility and compared to 9 seats manufactured using hard-sculpting techniques. Clinician and client questionnaires were completed for each seat to assess satisfaction, fitting/manufacturing t...
